Risograph

Risograph style calendar for 2027

Lemons, cut grapefruit and a striped awning fill Risograph Citrus Market, the one artwork on this page. The speckled grain and overlapping colours imitate a risograph, a stencil duplicator that prints each ink as a separate pass.

7 finished calendars, all using one original artwork: Risograph Citrus Market. They are editions of the same picture, with different dates or languages, and each listing says which it is.

What a home printer cannot copy

Real risograph prints use spot inks, including vivid colours outside a normal printer’s range, and the layers often sit slightly out of register. Here the grain and misalignment are part of the picture, and your printer reproduces them with its usual inks, so expect a calmer red and yellow than a true riso poster.

Paper that keeps it zine-like

Riso prints are usually made on uncoated paper, which is part of their charm. Plain or lightly textured matte stock suits this design better than photo paper, which would make the grain look like a digital effect. It works well as a cheerful kitchen or studio sheet.
